Built on the needs of a flourishing consumer law firm in sunny San Diego, Social Practice Management was born... MyCase.
Matt Spiegel was just like many other young lawyers. Immediately after law school he joined a large consumer law firm, handling a busy caseload. During the four years he worked at the firm, Matt became frustrated by inability to effectively communicate with clients and organize his work.
Wanting more, Matt left to start his own practice. Hoping to set himself apart from other firms in town, his first priority was to address the biggest complaint he recognized at his prior firm, client communication. It wasn't easy... he was constantly in court and when he wasn't in court, he was busy trying to build his new business. This made it extraordinarily challenging to provide clients with the attention they required and deserved.
After searching long and hard for a solution to this problem, and finding none, Matt thought: "How great would it be if I could communicate with clients in a web-based setting that allowed them to access their case information?" Thus, MyCase was hatched.
Assembling a talented team with significant Internet experience, they set to develop an environment where lawyers can easily communicate with their clients and simultaneously manage their practices. Practicality, ease of use, and mobility were paramount, and the MyCase team delivered, bringing the familiar web 2.0 mentality into the legal industry.
The result - MyCase, the first Social Practice Management system.
